• Dr. Barbara Lucini is the Director of Medical Intelligence International Group – Think Tank. She (Phd in Sociology and Methodology of Social Research) is a researcher at the Faculty of Humanities, Catholic University of Sacred Heart, Milan. She is fellow at Itstime – Italian Team for Security Terroristic issues and Managing Emergencies, Department of Sociology, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milan. She teaches Media Literacy and Digital Cultures at the Faculty of Humanities, Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, Milan. She is co-director and lecturer for the Master Crisis & Disaster Management: Organisational Functions in Civil Protection, Security and Civil Defence, Faculty of Letters and Philosophy, Catholic University, Milan. Since 2023 she has been dealing with Medical Intelligence and coordinates the National Medical Intelligence Group, Socint, Itstime, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milan. She has been involved in the scientific coordination of several research projects (European and non-European) focusing on radicalisation, extremism, terrorism, crisis management, risk communication, risk perception, security, resilience. Her research interests are oriented towards the processes of radicalisation, terrorism, extremism, security, sociology of disasters, risk communication, disaster management and resilience. • Dr. Jan Goldman is Professor of Intelligence and Security Studies at The Citadel (USA), and a former intelligence analyst. He is the editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Intelligence and CounterIntelligence and the founding editor of Security Professional Intelligence Education Series (SPIES – Bloomsbury Publishers).
• Prof. Mark Harrison is Professor of the History of Medicine at the University of Oxford and an Investigator at Oxford’s Pandemic Sciences Institute. In addition to his historical work, he is involved in a number of interdisciplinary projects relating to various aspect of global health and security. He has acted as an advisor to UK government departments on matters related to the politics of public health and also on medicine and health in conflict situations.
• Rene D. Kanayama B.A. (Philosophy & Ethics), M.A. (International Relations), Postgraduate Diploma (Oil & Gas Technology), MBA (Oil & Gas Industry Management), has been professionally engaged in the region of post-Soviet republics, Western Balkans and Middle East since 2003. At Institute ITSTIME he participates in academic activities as a Senior Researcher for Electronic Warfare and Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations, as well as the Head of Central Asia Branch. In a capacity of multiple Government Advisory positions, he has counselled both the government agencies and investing international corporates on issues of direct investment, energy security and counter-terrorism. He has advised an overseas Diplomatic Mission of the Republic of Tajikistan on economic relations from 2009 to 2017, and from April 2022 acts as a Foreign Direct Investment Representative and Adviser to a Kyrgyz business federation
• Dr. Ardavan M. Khoshnood is an Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer in Emergency Medicine and a researcher at the Centre for Intelligence Studies, both at Lund University, Sweden. He holds degrees in Criminology and Political Science from Malmö University, Intelligence Analysis from Lund University, and Police Work from Umeå University. His research spans emergency medicine, violent crime, offender profiling, and Iranian security and intelligence affairs. ORCid: https://orcid.org/0000-0002-3142-4119.
• Prof. Marco Lombardi is Full Professor at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, where he teaches Crisis Management and Risk Communication, Mass Communication Theory, Sociology, Intelligence and Counterterrorism, and Security Policies. He is a member of the Scientific Board of the Doctoral School, of the Master’s in Cultural Diplomacy, and of the School of Journalism. Professor Lombardi has managed numerous EU-funded research projects focusing on terrorism, security, and crisis management, and he collaborates regularly with institutional agencies engaged in security matters at both the national and international level. He is a member of the Governmental Commission on Counter-Radicalization and of the Strategic Policy Committee of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. In addition, he serves on the editorial boards of several leading journals, including the Journal for Deradicalization (www.journal-derad.com), the Journal of Mediterranean and Balkan Intelligence (JMBI), and Sicurezza, Terrorismo e Società – STS (www.sicurezzaterrorismosocieta.it). Author of more than 200 publications, Professor Lombardi has also been invited to speak at hundreds of international scientific events, where he is recognized for his expertise on terrorism, hybrid threats, intelligence, and crisis management.
• Prof. John M. Nomikos is the Director of the Research Institute for European and American Studies (RIEAS), Chairman of the European Intelligence Academy (EIA) and Founding Editor of the Journal of European and American Intelligence Studies (JEAIS) based in Athens, Greece.
• Major Tobbe Petterson is Head of Study Department at the Swedish Armed Forces Intelligence and Security Centre and affiliated with the Centre for Intelligence Studies, Lund University. He is a doctor in Intelligence Analysis and his research is mainly in military intelligence, intelligence psychology, intelligence methods development, and intelligence education. • Prof. Dr. Darko Trifunović is a full-time research professor and the Founder and Director of the Institute for National and International Security (INIS), one of the largest international academic and professional networks dedicated to the development and promotion of Security Science. He serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Security Science Journal, an international peer-reviewed journal focused on security, intelligence, and strategic studies. Prof. Dr. Trifunović holds a Doctor Honoris Causa degree awarded by the University of Public and Individual Security – Apeiron (Krakow, Poland). He has been elected as a Visiting Professor at the University “St. Kliment Ohridski” – Faculty of Security Studies (Skopje, North Macedonia), and as a Guest Professor at Matej Bel University, Faculty of Political Science and International Relations (Slovakia). He is also a Senior Researcher at Bar-Ilan University (Israel) and a Senior Advisor at the Research Institute for European and American Studies (RIEAS), Athens, Greece.

Institute for National and International Security (INIS)The Institute for National and International Security (INIS), based in Belgrade, Serbia, is an independent research institute dedicated to advancing Security Science and addressing complex contemporary security challenges. The institute conducts interdisciplinary research in intelligence and counter-intelligence studies, hybrid threats, terrorism and extremism, geopolitical risk, and critical infrastructure protection. INIS serves as an international platform connecting scholars, security practitioners, diplomats, and policymakers through research projects, strategic dialogue, and executive education programs. The institute publishes the peer-reviewed Security Science Journal and organizes the Belgrade Security and Intelligence Forum (BSIF), an international forum that brings together experts and decision-makers to discuss emerging global security risks. Through its growing global network of researchers, partner institutions, and senior fellows, INIS contributes to the development of innovative analytical frameworks and policy-relevant knowledge in security and intelligence studies.
ITSTIME – Italian Team for Security, Terroristic Issues & Managing Emergencies is a research center within the Department of Sociology at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart (UCSC). Founded in 2020 by Professor Marco Lombardi, the center works in close collaboration with public and private institutions to monitor evolving threats, develop risk scenarios, and design both prevention strategies and emergency response plans. A particular focus is devoted to the risks posed by different forms of terrorism. Over the years, ITSTIME has coordinated several EU-funded scientific research programs addressing terrorism risk assessment, methods for evaluating threat scenarios, and policies on radicalization and de-radicalization. In parallel, the center has conducted training initiatives for law enforcement agencies in diverse regions, including the Middle East, North Africa, the Balkans, Ukraine, and several crisis zones such as Afghanistan, Central Asia, Somalia, and Syria. One of ITSTIME’s distinctive contributions is the development of an original methodology for Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) and Digital HUMINT, built around the “C4 Method”: Comprehension, Consideration, Consciousness, and Communication of information. Within the field of Hybrid and Cognitive Warfare, this approach is designed to exploit vulnerabilities in digital communication, enabling the infiltration of adversarial networks and the collection of intelligence crucial to preventing and countering hybrid threats.
